Dragon Boat Day 2005

Dragon Boat Day 2005 was held on Sunday 15th May. This is an annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper and held alongside the River Thames in Abingdon. It is a fun and rewarding day out for all the family, and this year was no exception!

A total of 24 Dragon Boat teams took part in this year's event. The teams competed against each other in many heats, with some very close-fought races. The Minor and Major finals involved six boats in each race.

On the river bank there were many other attractions. A fun fair, refreshment stalls, many craft stalls, laser shooting, 'Beat the Goalie' competition, a Tai Chi Display, to name but a few.
