District 1090

Rotary International is the world's largest service organisation for business and professional people, with some 1,180,000 members in 163 countries world-wide.  There are now over 59,000 Rotarians in 1834 Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, helping those in need and working towards world understanding and peace. 'Service above Self' is the organisation's motto.

The Rotary Clubs in Abingdon meet weekly.  These are social occasions, usually with guest speakers, but may sometimes be devoted to planning charitable activities, although much of this planning is done at other times.  One club meets Friday lunchtimes; the other on Tuesday evenings.  Click either link for further details

For administrative purposes, Rotary Clubs are organised in Districts and the Clubs in Abingdon fall in District 1090 which includes some 62 Clubs in Oxfordshire and parts of some of the surrounding counties.
