The Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper endeavours to involve itself in the local community. Some examples include Abingdon Carbon Cutters at Caldecott School; Abingdon Hospital gardens, and the giving of financial donations. Members also give their free time to projects.
In 2016 the Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper held its third Food and Drink Festival.
The Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper supports the work of Festival Spirit, a charity providing the full festival experience to young people who would not normally be able to enjoy one due to life-limiting illness or disability.
Rotary Dragon Boat Day has become a major event in the Abingdon calendar, with entertainments and attractions for the whole family.
The Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper is always looking to sponsor a local person on the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) scheme which is open to young people between 18 and 25, including both the disabled and the able-bodied.
