The Dragon Boat races organised by the Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper are a major feature in the summer outdoor events in Abingdon. More that just Dragon Boat racing, there is a fun fair as well as numerous stalls, so that the whole day is a great one for all the family. A Dragon Boat team will typically consist of about 20 people (16 plus a drummer in the boat and a few reserves), and with five of the maximum of 30 places already taken six months before the event, you would be advised to make very early application if you and your friends want to take part. Any group is eligible. In the past we have had teams from industrial and commercial concerns, from various hospitals, the armed forces, pubs and clubs, charitable organisations, and more.
